  • Howdy Folks
It has been a long time since I last updated. Several weeks ago I took a family of Horse and Buggy Mennonite's to Ohio for a wedding and so I got to spend several days with Mike and Cheryl and Cole which I always enjoy.

We found this worm in Cheryl's tea patch

Here is a closeup of the worm.I had a hard time not getting him blurry

Cole was so intrigued by this worm so we put him in this bottle with some leaves and I cut some holes in the top of the lid so he could breath. I never did hear if he turned into a butterfly or not.

Actually caught Cheryl before she made to much of a cheesy grin (That is awful hard to do  LOL)
On Friday evening Mikes headed to West Virginia for a few days off to celebrate their anniversary so I headed on to Mansfield as my bunch wanted to go to Lake Erie fairly early in the morning and then have a picnic before we headed for home before to late on Saturday.

This is where we went out past a pier to a light house.

This is part of the walkway and fishing pier

Here you can see the people fishing. It was quite windy as some of the other Pictures will show

After a nice long walk I finally came to this pier. They were well ahead of me.

There were people fishing around the base of the lighthouse too.

I am still on the lighthouse and we had to hurry across this wall or we would get splashed.

This is the whole bunch. There were two van loads that went out.

Now back to the present. Last week I took a load of Amish to Unity Wisconsin for a funeral and this is a reminder what is coming our way shortly. FROST and then SNOW. It was 38 degrees when I got up which was around 9:30 as I had to prepare to drive all night that night.
Well this is the Lords day. I hope each one of you get a chance to worship him today with family and friends.         Till later    Pops

  • Howdy Folks

Just want to update some more pictures of our trip to Maryland. We arrived safely home around 8:20 this morning. We thank the Lord for another safe trip. We saw several accidents this morning near Lexington. We had to do a u-turn as we were entering Lexington because of one of them. Traffic had to completely stop except for those willing to do a u-turn. I got back on I 64 to Frankfort then took 127 south to the Blue Grass parkway. Carrie drove around 100 miles so that I could have a good snore (LOL) then when the traffic got pretty busy she wanted me to drive.

    August 2009 Baby Zachary 034

On Thursday the doctor wanted to check the baby out so I took Ramona and Zachary to Chestertown to see him. (Zach sleeping in his car seat)

    August 2009 Baby Zachary 036

He sure woke up by the the time they put him on the scales. You can see he still is a little yellow.

    August 2009 Baby Zachary 039

    August 2009 Baby Zachary 045

This is what he looked like by the time we got him home totally sacked out (LOL)August 2009 Baby Zachary 055

Cheryl and Cole (Meeting Zachary for the first time) arrived Saturday evening to take over this week for us until Rosita arrives next week.

    August 2009 Baby Zachary 029

We bought Roses and Baby's Breath for Ramona and Amanda did the arrangement

    August 2009 Baby Zachary 033

The finished product. She did real good for an 8 year old (with a little help)

    August 2009 Baby Zachary 060

Sarah just loves dolls so we got her this doll for her 2nd birthday  (in October)

    August 2009 Baby Zachary 049

I just had to take this picture of the four grandchildren watching a video and just having a ball.

    August 2009 Baby Zachary 063

One day last week Margaret told me that my comb-over had to go so Cheryl volunteered to take care of it. I just don't have an updated picture of it after she was done. At least I don't have to have a comb with me (Which I was always losing)

Well that is all for now. Hope you enjoy the pictures.     Pops

We (Carrie and myself) were on the road by 6:45 PM last night and 13 hours later we are at the hospital (We stopped in Crumpton at Mahlon and Rhoda Stoltzfus's to pick up the grandchildren). So to Dave's Darlin I now have some pictures of the baby instead of the bump (LOL)

I was holding the baby and just snapped this picture freehand with out looking at the picture on the back of the camera. I thought it turned out real good.

Sarah just loves her little brother. This is going to be a big adjustment for her. This was taken right after we got to Ramona's room

We grandma held the baby she had quite a hissy fit (LOL) just part of the adjustment.

Grandma and Zachary. she was holding him in the son as he has some jaundice. If his numbers do not come down this afternoon he will have to stay here tonight yet.

    Zachary's big helper sister Amanda

    Grandpa holding Sarah and Zachary

The whole bunch of us except for Ramona who was taking the picture and Walter who came in a few minutes ago as he got to sleep in. We will have more pictures later.
We thank the Lord for a safe trip as all we very well. I drove to Wythesville Va the I got to sleep for the next 215 miles. She does not like to drive in traffic so when we headed on I 66 towards Washington DC she was willing to let me do the driving again.    Till next time.      Pops
